Opioids have long been the standard for analgesia for our patients. But are we really providing the best care with just opioids? While opioids are known to be effective for analgesia, they are not always the best option. And they are certainly NOT the only option! We will review how pain "works" in the body and cover opioids as well as the many other pharmacological and nonpharmacological modalities for pain management!
